まず、信仰について触れる前に、クルアーンやハディースが不信仰（カフィール）についてどのように述べているのかを見ていきます。
Indeed, those who reject the message after their belief and then increase in disbelief – never will their [claimed] repentance be accepted, and they are the ones astray.

だが一度進行した後不信心になり、不信心を増長した者は、悔悟しても受け入れられないであろう。かれらは迷い去ったものである。

Indeed, those who purchase disbelief [in exchange] for faith – never will they harm Allah at all, and for them is a painful punishment.

信仰の代わりに不信心を購なった者は、少しもアッラーを損えない。かれらは手痛い懲罰を受けるであろう。

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Whoever said “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a barley grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said: “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of a wheat grain will be taken out of Hell. And whoever said, “None has the right to be worshipped but Allah and has in his heart good (faith) equal to the weight of an atom will be taken out of Hell.”
『アッラーの他に崇拝されるに値するものはいない』と唱え、その心の中に一粒の麦の重さに等しい善（信仰）を持つ者は、火獄（地獄）から出されるだろう。また、『アッラーの他に崇拝されるに値するものはいない』と唱え、その心の中に一粒の小麦の重さに等しい善（信仰）を持つ者も、火獄から出されるだろう。さらに、『アッラーの他に崇拝されるに値するものはいない』と唱え、その心の中に原子（あるいは蟻の最も小さなもの）の重さに等しい善（信仰）を持つ者も、火獄から出されるだろう。

The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “None will enter Paradise but will be shown the place he would have occupied in the (Hell) Fire if he had rejected faith, so that he may be more thankful; and none will enter the (Hell) Fire but will be shown the place he would have occupied in Paradise if he had faith, so that may be a cause of sorrow for him.”
楽園に入る者は皆、もし彼が信仰を拒否していたなら占めていたであろう（火獄の）場所を見せられるだろう。それは、彼がより感謝の念を抱くためである。また、火獄に入る者は皆、もし彼が信仰を持っていたなら占めていたであろう楽園の場所を見せられるだろう。それは、彼にとって嘆き悲しみの原因となるためである。

さて、これまで不信仰（カフィール）に関する内容を見てきましたが、ここからは信仰者（ムウミン）について焦点を当てていきたいと思います。
Our Lord, indeed we have heard a caller calling to faith, [saying], ‘Believe in your Lord,’ and we have believed. Our Lord, so forgive us our sins and remove from us our misdeeds and cause us to die with the righteous.

わたしたちの主よ、まことにわたしたちは、「あなたがたの主を信じなさい」 と信仰へ呼びかける呼びかけ人の声を聞き、そしてわたしたちは信じました。わたしたちの主よ、どうかわたしたちの罪を赦し、わたしたちから悪行を取り除いてください。そして、わたしたちを義しい者たちと共に死なせてください。

So those who believe in Allah and hold fast to Him – He will admit them to mercy from Himself and bounty and guide them to Himself on a straight path.

だから、アッラーを信仰し、しっかりと彼（アッラー）にしがみつく者たち—彼は彼らを、御自身からの慈悲と恩恵の中に招き入れ、彼らを真っすぐな道を通して御自身へと導かれるだろう。

They who believe and do not mix their belief with injustice – those will have security, and they are [rightly] guided.

信仰して、自分の信心に不義を混じえない者、これらの者は安全であり、正しく導かれる者である。

Faith has over seventy branches, the most excellent of which is the declaration that there is no god but Allah, and the humblest of which is the removal of a bone from the road. And modesty is a branch of faith.
信仰には七十以上の分枝（あるいは部門）がある。その中で最も優れたものは、『アッラーの他に崇拝されるに値する神はいない』という宣言である。そして、その中で最も卑近なもの（最も小さな善行）は、道から邪魔な骨を取り除くことである。そして、慎み（謙虚さ、恥じらい）もまた、信仰の分枝の一つである。

Prophet (peace be upon him) saying, “On the Day of Resurrection I will intercede and say, “O my Lord! Admit into Paradise (even) those who have faith equal to a mustard seed in their hearts.”
復活の日、私は取りなし（シャファーア）を行い、こう言うだろう。『おお、我が主よ！ 心の中に一粒のからし種の重さに等しい信仰を持つ者たちでさえも、楽園に入れてください。』

これまで信仰の重要性に触れましたが、『信仰』の本質とは何でしょうか？
Faith is to believe in Allah, His angels, (the) meeting with Him, His Apostles, and to believe in Resurrection.
信仰とは、アッラー、アッラーの天使たち、アッラーとの再会（審判の日）、アッラーの使徒たち、そして復活（死後の蘇り）を信じることである。

That you affirm your faith in Allah, His angels, His Books, His meeting, His Messengers and that you affirm your faith in the Resurrection hereafter.
（信仰とは、）あなたが、アッラー、アッラーの天使たち、アッラーの啓典、アッラーとの再会、アッラーの使徒たちを確信すること、そして、来世における復活を確信することである。

The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and [so have] the believers. All of them have believed in Allah and His angels and His books and His messengers, [saying], “We make no distinction between any of His messengers.” And they say, “We hear and we obey. [We seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination.”

使徒は，主から下されたものを信じる，信者たちもまた同じである。（かれらは）皆，アッラーと天使たち，諸啓典と使徒たちを信じる。わたしたちは，使徒たちの誰にも差別をつけない（と言う）。また，かれらは（祈って）言う。「わたしたちは，（教えを）聞き，服従します。主よ，あなたの御赦しを願います。（わたしたちの）帰り所はあなたの御許であります。」

これらは（不信仰と信仰に関する）ごく一部の例に過ぎませんが、クルアーンやハディースを巡ると、さらに多くの言及が見られます。以上のことから、イスラーム教において信仰がいかに重要であるかが理解できます。信仰と不信仰について今後も触れていきたいと思います。
