Islam ５つの柱
イスラームは単なる信仰（イマーン）に留まらず、その信仰に裏付けられた具体的な善行（イーサーン）を伴う実践こそが、イスラームにおける真の目的です。
まずは、イスラームを支える「5つの柱」について説明します。イスラームは、この５つの柱となる義務的な実践によって成り立っています。
(The superstructure of) al-Islam is raised on five (pillars), testifying (the fact) that there is no god but Allah, that Muhammad is His bondsman and messenger, and the establishment of prayer, payment of Zakat, Pilgrimage to the House (Ka’ba) and the fast of Ramadan.
イスラームの骨格（または構造）は5つの柱の上に築かれている。アッラーの他に神はなく、ムハンマドはアッラーのしもべにして使徒であることを証言すること、礼拝を確立すること、ザカートを支払うこと、（カーバ）の家への巡礼をすること、そしてラマダーンの断食をすること、である。

I heard the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) say: Verily, al-Islam is founded on five (pillars): testifying the fact that there is no god but Allah, establishment of prayer, payment of Zakat, fast of Ramadan and Pilgrimage to the House.
私はアッラーの使徒（彼に平安あれ）がこう仰るのを聞いた。まことに、イスラームは5つの（柱）の上に築かれている。（それは、）アッラーの他に神はないことを証言すること、礼拝を確立すること、ザカートを支払うこと、ラマダーンの断食、そして（カーバ）の家への巡礼である。
